There are four ways to travel from San Jose to Montezuma:

Car: From San Jose take the highway to Puntarenas, where you take the ferry to Paquera, (check with the hotel for the ferry schedule), once in the Nicoya Peninsula you follow the signs to Montezuma.

Public Transport: From Coca Cola market (Mercado de Coca Cola) in San Jose leaves daily at 7:00am and 2pm a direct bus to Montezuma, the bus goes on the ferry so you do not need to worry about your luggage, the journey takes around 6 hours and costs around 12 dollars per person.

Important:
To Ferry users we recommend that you check with the hotel for and updated ferry schedule. Also, you should arrive early to ensure that there is space for you and your car. This service is approximate from 6:00 AM until 8:00 PM with 6 departures daily and regular schedule changes.

Plane:
Air Line Sansa makes daily trips from the Juan Santamaría Airport to the Tambor airstrip.

Air Line Nature Air, makes daily trips from the Tobias Bolaños Airport in Pavas, to the Tambor airstrip.

Check the airlines company for departure times and fares.

From Tambor, the hotel can arrange for a taxi to bring you to Luz de Mono, Montezuma. (30 Minutes)

Taxi Boat from Jacó: You can hire a boat taxi from Herradura Beach-Jacó that brings you directly to the Montezuma beach in less than an hour. . This service can also be arranged to and from other Pacific beaches on an individual basis.

The boat only leaves with a minimum of 4 people.
